Only three short years later, I’m just as obsessed with this little girl as I was the day she was born. I loved having my boys first, but having Sloane third really made her our family’s exclamation point. I still stand by the fact that I’d have ten more babies if money or time weren’t an issue, but since that can’t actually be a thing, she’ll have to stay my baby forever.
We were staying up in the gorgeous Colorado mountains so I grabbed the opportunity to take her birthday photos while there. When we found out we were having a girl we toyed with the idea that she’d probably end up being girly like me while trying to follow along with her brothers. Sure enough, she wears tutus in the mud and is as tough as a small girl could come. I love when we’re out playing and other parents constantly apologize for their boys being rough around her. I giggle and assure them that she can hold her own.
She adores her puppy, her grandma’s old kitty, and really any animal she can get her hands on. Think Tommy Boy and face smooshing. She rivals her biggest brother in toddler naughtiness, forcing us to ask her to do the opposite of what we want to get her to do what we actually want. She sneaks under my desk to drink my mostly-empty coffee cups. She’s down for any adventure we throw her way. She gives a mean side-eye.
I can’t believe it is already here, but happy birthday to my little BFF!
