It’s so normal for time to absolutely fly by when you’re pregnant. You watch the clock and worry about every detail, and then one day you wake up with a baby. When Hayes’ mama contacted me she was worried she had missed the mark because he was already over a month old. The funny thing is that I think this age is a bit easier to shoot with than under-two-week-old babies. Mom knows when they are sleepy and fully fed, and they’re coming into a rhythm! I know many photographers are scared to take on a “newborn” that is two months old like little Hayes was on the day of our shoot, but I totally adore it! He was as sleepy as I could ever ask for and even let me wrap him up like he’s on day 1. Then…get a load of his expressions!!! I couldn’t pick just one for so many of the very awake moments.
This is only a piece of their massive gallery. I love the surprise of walking into a client’s home for the first time to see what we get to work with. Every one of my newborn sessions has a flow, but no two galleries could ever look alike. With clients all over Denver and Boulder, I see such an array of new homes and older, revamped homes. What I loved about this home was the overall neutral scheme with pops of eclectic pieces and simple patterns and textures. When everything is simple and beautiful, it really makes the wonderful family stand out!
