I walked down the halls of the hospital, into the labor and delivery floor and felt my heart in my throat. Just being on that floor makes me almost well up with tears. Heather and I talked about the overwhelming joy and sadness we felt that we’ll never get to do “this” again; “this” being another pregnancy, labor or birth. These little ones grab our souls and it’s hard to imagine not getting to do this over and over again forever. It is amazing how fast we forget the intensity we endure before their arrival and everything becomes about their tiny life.
Little Grayson was supposed to come into the world on April 16th via scheduled c-section. Instead, he came roaring in on March 29th. Surprise! I am so honored that I got to capture these moments when he was exactly 24 hours old. He never made a peep and I can’t wait for his real newborn session this weekend!
Seriously, how good does Heather look?! You can see her maternity photos here. I love a girl that puts on makeup, even in the hospital. That probably sounds crazy to most people (I did it and got wierd looks), but in this case it was the finishing touch for her photos. Don’t discount makeup, ladies!
Heather, thank you for letting me be a part of the first day of Grayson’s life.
I offer birth and hospital sessions at Sky Ridge, St. Joes, Swedish and Rose, but can also consider others by request. I only book a limited number each year so contact me ASAP for details or if you want to get on the schedule! These sessions typically include far more finished photos in your gallery and an album. They may be taking the lead as my faaaaaaavorite sessions of all……
